Logbook

A few sunny and calm days at the end of the season were very much appreciated by our anglers and ourselves. Four to eleven people caught on six trips (one on anchor) 104 pollock, 8 ling, 3 pouting, 9 cuckoo wrasse, 8 conger, 1 dogfish and 1 octopus.

14th - 19th September 2008

We had six drift fishing trips with six angler this week. They caught 176 pollock, 10 ling, 7 pouting, 1 whiting, 13 cuckoo wrasse, 1 ballan wrasse and 1 squid.

7th - 12th September 2008

Poor weather conditions meant only four trips this week and two to three angler caught 113 pollock and 1 coalfish.

31st August - 1st September 2008

Two to four angler caught 40 pollack, 2 ling (the biggest 1.24mtr / 27 pounds), 1 pouting, 1 cuckoo wrasse and 1 dogfish on two trips this week.

24th - 29th August 2008

Four trips drift fishing with two to three anglers this week. 109 pollock (the biggest 12 pounds), 1 coalfish, 9 ling (the biggest 1.15 mtr), 3 pouting, 3 cod, 1 red gurnard and 10 cuckoo wrasse.

17th - 22nd August 2008

Again six trips this week with strong winds and heavy swell. Three anglers caught 98 pollock, 1 coalfish, 15 ling (the biggest 0.94 mtr), 3 pouting, 1 haddock, 1 cuckoo wrasse, 1 ballan wrasse, 1 dogfish and 1 conger.

3rd - 8th August 2008

Six trips with three to five angler on board. The first blueshark around Valentia Island was caught this week! 98 pollock, 18 ling, 9 pouting, 1 cod, 1 cuckoo wrasse and the mentioned blueshark with 1.97 mtr.

26th July - 1st August 2008

This week we had seven trips with two to nine anglers on board. They caught 181 pollock, 6 ling, 5 pouting, 1 cod, 4 cuckoo wrasse, 1 ballan wrasse, 5 conger and 1 dogfish.

13th - 18th July 2008

This week also four trips drift fishing with six anglers on board each day. They caught 188 pollock, 4 coalfish, 24 ling, 15 pouting, 1 cod, 2 cuckoo wrasse, 4 ballan wrasse and one conger.

29th June - 5th July 2008

Four angling trips (drifting), rough weather conditions and four to five anglers this week. They caught 98 pollock, 1 ling, 5 pouting, 2 cod, 2 ballan wrasse and one dogfish.

16th - 27th June 2008

Six trips with five anglers each time (four times drifting and twice on anchor). Result: 103 pollock, 4 coalfish, 15 ling, 7 pouting, 1 cuckoo wrasse, 1 spidercrab, 1 starfish and 7 black conger.

8th - 14th June 2008

Seven trips (five times fishing while drifting and twice on anchor), two to eight anglers, fantastic weather conditions and plenty of fishes. 183 pollock, 3 coalfish, 43 ling, 31 pouting, 14 cuckoo wrasse, 2 ballan wrasse, 26 conger, 3 dogfish, 1 bullhuss and 1 rockling.

1st - 7th June 2008

Plenty of sunshine made our anglers happy this week. And of course the catch as well. Two to three anglers per trip, four trips drift fishing and one trip on anchor: 141 pollock (the biggest 13 pounds), 16 ling, 11 pouting, 2 cod, 5 cuckoo wrasse, 1 ballan wrasse and 4 conger.

26th - 30th May 2008

Three trips on drift with three anglers on board. 97 pollock (the biggest 14 pounds), 22 coalfish, 5 ling, 6 pouting, 1 cod, 3 cuckoo wrasse and 2 ballan wrasse.

18th - 24th May 2008

Four trips on drift with four to ten anglers this week. They caught 183 pollock, 31 coalfish, 2 ling, 5 pouting, 1 cuckoo wrasse and 1 ballan wrasse.

11th - 16th May 2008

Glorious weather and five to six happy anglers on board. Two trips drift fishing and twice anchored. Result: 122 pollock, 30 coalfish, 8 ling, 6 pouting, 1 cod, 5 cuckoo wrasse, 10 conger and 1 dogfish.

3rd - 8th May 2008

Seven drift fishing trips with five to six people on board. They caught 266 pollock, 91 coalfish, 14 ling, 31 pouting, 4 cod, 2 cuckoo wrasse, 9 ballan wrasse and 1 dab.

21st April - 2nd May 2008

Six to eight angler caught on five trips 210 pollock (the biggest 12 pounds) 74 coalfish, 7 ling, 3 pouting, 1 cod, 1 whiting, 1 cuckoo wrasse, 1 ballan wrasse (3 pounds), 4 conger, 1 dogfish, 1 bullhuss, 2 octopus, 1 starfish and 2 sea cucumber J.

4th - 9th April 2008

A successful start into the new season!

Sunshine and calm sea during the first four trips with two to five angler on board. They caught 149 pollock (the biggest 13 pounds), 234 coalfish, 1 ling, 1 pouting, 1 cuckoo wrasse and 2 ballan wrasse.
